Hm, got my iPod back and was testing a few unmodified Podzilla builds. They seem to have a few problems here and there, though I don't remember what. Could someone try a build made with this compiler and compare it with a daily SVN build? I believe the problem was in module loading and some more stuff.

since no one will effectively help me elsewhere, maybe this would be a nice place to try.

im trying to use cygwin with the 3.4.3 toolchain, and every time arm-uclinux-elf-gcc is called upon in the Makefile (no matter what im compiling), my system crashes. i dont understand why this happens. i have searched these forums (and the wiki) head to toe in search for an answer, as well as google, cygwin.com, and the armgcc website, and no one has ever reported a problem like this. ive tried reinstalling the toolchain, i've even reinstalled my entire cygwin installation, but nothing works. if anyone can help, please post.

thanks,
.justin.

Thoroughly confusing, never heard of the problem before, is there any error message that might lead you to the reason for the crash?

You might be better off trying to get a live CD booting so you can do it from a linux environment rather than a virtual one.

haha wow i forgot about this.

well i put the 2.95 toolchain on instead and it works fine.

and i installed ubuntu on my old g3 imac and put the 3.4.3 toolchain on there. and im just using my ipod to transfer files between computers since i dont have a working router at the moment Laughing

but thanks for your offer to help. and it wasnt giving me any errors prior to the crashes. the only errors i got was the windows 'the system has recovered from a serious error'

Bump, this still works and it's more useful than virtually every sticky in this forum.
