Anime Expo 2016 – Part 2/2

Note: This is part 2 of my Anime Expo blog post. See here for part 1   Anime Expo (AX) is a four-day anime convention held annually in Los Angeles, California. It is the largest anime convention in North America, with AX2016 attracting over 100,000 attendees (more than four times the attendance we had at Sakura-con 2016). I hadn’t attended Anime Expo since AX2011 (Mikunopolis LA), but this time it was announced that there would be a huge concert called Anisong World Matsuri featuring many popular Japanese anime music artists performing (such as JAM Project, T.M. Revolution, etc.) as well …

Anime Expo 2016 – Part 1/2

Note: This is a blog post I was supposed to have written literally half a year ago. Due to numerous factors (mainly Black Desert Online, Revelation Online, Project Rem, and procrastination), I did not write this until today. But better late than never I guess, so here it is! Note: This is part 1/2 of my Anime Expo blog post. See here for part 2   Anime Expo (AX) is a four-day anime convention held annually in Los Angeles, California. [F/GO] Hand-made Fate/Grand Order Cards (V2)

Earlier this year, I made a bunch of Fate/Grand Order cards on a whim to hand out to Fate cosplayers and F/GO players at Sakura-con 2016. Being a last-minute idea, they were cheaply made using simple sheets of paper and some packing tape. Despite this, people loved them and I quickly ran out before the end of the 3-day con. And so, for this upcoming Anime Expo 2016, however, I decided to make a second batch of cards, but in larger quantities and much higher quality. Me in my Male Protagonist (Gudao) cosplay holding up my Team Basaka. Except replaced …

Miku Expo 2016 – Seattle

Last weekend (April 23rd), I attended the Hatsune Miku Expo 2016 Seattle concert at the WaMu Theater. This was the (third?) Hatsune Miku concert ever held in North America (with the Seattle stop being the first in the NA tour), the first being Anime Expo 2011‘s Mikunopolis LA. While I did attend AX2011 back then, I didn’t realize that I had to pre-order tickets ahead of time (concert newbie mistake!) and, of course, they all sold out by then. This time around, I did make sure to buy concert tickets ahead of time (or rather, a friend of mine did …

Sakura-Con 2016

It’s that time of year again: Sakura-Con 2016! Sakura-Con is the largest anime convention in the north west, with over 20,000 attendees and held this year at the Washington State Convention Center (Seattle, Washington) between March 25-27th. This was my third year attending, having attended and blogged about both 2015 and 2014. This time around, I didn’t have any panel topics in mind so I just attended (once again) as volunteer staff this year for tournament gaming. The scheduling this year also wasn’t all that interesting so I spent most of my free time just wandering around looking for Fate …

Dolpa LA 2015

Last weekend (September 5th), I attended Volks USA’s official Doll Party in LA 2015 event. This was my first time attending a Dolpa event, as well as my first time meeting a large number of DD owners. I had previously attended the BJD-focused Uncanny Dreams 2013 and had a mini-meet at Sakura-con 2014, but that was it. And so, with high expectations and excitement to making new friends, I planned out hotel and scheduling with thebobness, packed up Lily and Arcueid, and hopped on the plane to Los Angeles. Dollfie Dream Team, assemble! Overall, the trip was quite fun and …

Sakura-Con 2015

It’s been a while since I’ve posted anything here (I blame ArcheAge), but last, last week was Sakura-Con 2015. Sakura-con is the largest anime convention in the north west, with over 20,000 attendees and held at the Washington State Convention Center (Seattle, Washington) between April 3-5th. I went last yearand took tons of cosplay photos as an attendee, but this year, I decided to attend not only as volunteer staff, but also as a panelist! Since I spent most of my time helping out in the console gaming room (I was part of tournament gaming staff), I was only able …

Sakura-Con 2014

Last weekend was Sakura-Con 2014, the biggest anime convention in the north-west. The convention is pretty big with over 25,000 attendees this year and was the biggest I’ve ever been to since Anime Expo 2011. It was also the first time I was attending an anime con with friends also interested in anime (including OhnoRaptors and Tsukikira), which made it a lot more fun since I wasn’t always the only person excited to see stuff. Attended a few of panels, including “A Helpful Guide to Anime Figure Collecting”, “Are We Live? The iDOLMA$TER!”, “Cosplay Skit Contest”, and “Lesbian-Themed Anime”. Spent …

Akicon 2013

A few weeks ago (Oct 25-27th), I attended Akicon 2013 as my first big anime convention since moving to Washington last year. In the northwest, there are two large anime conventions, Sakura-con and Akicon. I somehow managed to miss both last year, but made sure to attend this year (and plan on attending Sakura-con 2014). 3,980 total views, 2 views today
