See this post for the introduction. In case you didn’t know/notice from my previous blog posts, I am a huge Gundam fanboy (to be fair though, I actually don’t blog all that much about Gundam, mainly cause I never find the time to build all those gunpla kits gathering dust). I grew up watching Gundam Wing as an elementary school kid (somehow convinced my parents to ignore all the “Rated T for Teen” warnings) and went on to watch (and enjoy) all the older series from long before I was born. So when I heard about The Art of Gundam …

Japan Trip 2012 – Gundam Front, RX78-2 Gundam
So right after finishing university, my friends and I decided to go to Japan for our graduation trip (May-June 2012). Japan was a high in our choice of destination for a vacation. For my friends, it was of cultural interest and a new place to see. For me, it was the Holy Land of anime, and also the place where my figure collecting hobby would emerge. But the loots and food blog entries will come at the end. The following series of “Japan Trip 2012” blog posts will simply be pictorial guides of my adventure through Japan. I’ll try to …

This is Part 3: Azur Lane of my series of blog posts covering my 5-day experience at Anime Expo 2019. Make sure to also check out Part 1: General and Part 2: Fate Intro: It’s been a while since I’ve written an anime convention blog post (since AX2016, I’ve just been creating Flickr albums for every event I attend, writing a short Facebook blurb, and calling it good) but due to the higher-than-normal number of photos I took this year, I decided to go ahead and write one. Another reason for this was that this year’s AX experience was a …

Note: This is part 2 of my Anime Expo blog post. See here for part 1 Anime Expo (AX) is a four-day anime convention held annually in Los Angeles, California. It is the largest anime convention in North America, with AX2016 attracting over 100,000 attendees (more than four times the attendance we had at Sakura-con 2016). I hadn’t attended Anime Expo since AX2011 (Mikunopolis LA), but this time it was announced that there would be a huge concert called Anisong World Matsuri featuring many popular Japanese anime music artists performing (such as JAM Project, T.M. Revolution, etc.) as well …

Note: This is a blog post I was supposed to have written literally half a year ago. Due to numerous factors (mainly Black Desert Online, Revelation Online, Project Rem, and procrastination), I did not write this until today. But better late than never I guess, so here it is! Note: This is part 1/2 of my Anime Expo blog post. See here for part 2 Anime Expo (AX) is a four-day anime convention held annually in Los Angeles, California. It is the largest anime convention in North America, with AX2016 attracting over 100,000 attendees (more than four times the …

Protecting the smile of best girl Rem… It’s been almost two and a half years since I entered the world of Dollfie Dream and started my first custom Dollfie project, Arcueid Brunestud. It would take me another 8 months before I finally completed her (during which I ended up adopting an official Volks Saber Lily), after which I decided that would be the end of it and I would live happily ever after. Or so I thought… While 2016 was a shitty year in various other areas, it was a decent one for anime. More Gundam, more One adaptations, some …

It’s that time of year again: Sakura-Con 2016! Sakura-Con is the largest anime convention in the north west, with over 20,000 attendees and held this year at the Washington State Convention Center (Seattle, Washington) between March 25-27th. This was my third year attending, having attended and blogged about both 2015 and 2014. This time around, I didn’t have any panel topics in mind so I just attended (once again) as volunteer staff this year for tournament gaming. The scheduling this year also wasn’t all that interesting so I spent most of my free time just wandering around looking for Fate …

See this post for the introduction. See this post for background info on Comiket 86 After the exhausting first day of Comiket 86 came C86 Day 2: the day of cosplay photography. Hnnnnngggggggggggg! *dies from heart attack* It was also cloudier that morning, so the initial outside waiting for doors to open was much more tolerable than the previous day. Day 2 of Comiket consists mostly of female-oriented BL circles and Touhou circles, so we managed to finish our shopping really early and spend some time wandering around or photographing cosplayers (which was mainly what I ended up doing). Which …

See this post for the introduction. After our last day of visiting Kyoto/Osaka, we took the shinkansen back to Tokyo and took a day break in preparation for the main event of the trip: Comiket 86. The calm before the storm: Waiting in line for Tokyo Big Sight to open it’s doors to Comiket 86 goers… For those who aren’t familiar, Comiket (short for ”Comic Market”) is Japan’s oldest and largest doujinshi convention. It is a 3-day event held bi-annually with Summer Comiket happening in mid August and Winter Comiket happening in late December. It has in recent years been …

See this post for the introduction. While going through photos in Lightroom for my recent Sakura-Con 2015 photo blog post, I realized that I actually never finished uploading and writing the rest of my Japan Trip 2014 blog posts… Oops… So here they are, with whatever commentary I can still remember… Better late than never I guess! On the same day we visited the Art of Gundam exhibition, we explored Nipponbashi and Dotonbori. I had visited both places multiple times in the past, so I didn’t end up taking all that many pictures this time around. We meet again, Giant …
