> Title: Development of Google Android Application "Project Cherry Blossom" by Philip Peng > Abstract: The purpose of this proposal is to obtain resources needed for development of my Google Android application, "Project Cherry Blossom". The game is currently in development but unable to proceed to its testing phase due to inadequate hardware. The current testing platform, a Samsung Galaxy S phone, lacks the processing power required by the calculational intensive aspects of the game. > Background: "Project Cherry Blossom" is planned to be a side-scrolling bullet-hell shooter game based off the popular Touhou Project line of shooter computer games. The main engine will be written from scratch and designed/optimized with touch-screen Android tablets in mind. The engine is also planned to be adapted to read scripts from the open source shooter game maker program "Touhou Danmakufu". > Specific Aims: - Complete smooth bullet-hell shooter game engine capable of smoothly rendering and calculating projection paths of 500+ bullet objects (currently impossible with a standard Android phone) - Adapt engine to read data files produced by Touhou Danmakufu - Publish app in the Android Market and open source the code under Modified BSD License > Funding Justification: - Website domain name - $10 - Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1- $599 Total funding sought: $609 > References http://projectcherryblossom.com (no server as of the moment) http://touhou.wikia.com/wiki/Touhou_Danmakufu http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Touhou
