Alright this method worked. Thanks Keripo. One glitch was that only a small part of my library was detected, any reason for this? Rockbox detects them perfectly. |

Same here. I reckon it's harder to launch Wikipodia from inside Podzilla, so I'm trying to start it from the launcher directly (instructions here). However, I have no idea where the loader.cfg file is in the ZeroSlacker framework. I imagine it's buried somewhere in the firmware partition, but I don't know how to edit it if this is the case.

it should be right in your root |
Do you mean the root of the FAT32 partition (/dev/sdb2)? All I can find is:
bin/
Calendars/
Contacts/
dev/
iPod_Control/
Notes/
ZeroSlackr/
linux.bin |

Yes, the root of the FAT. If its not there, try searching (ctrl+F) for loader.cfg. if it deosnt exist youll probably need to make one |

Read the Loader 2 wiki page. It knows about "missing" loader.cfg's and how to make one. |

Thanks. I managed to configure Loader 2 now. I used the following loader.cfg:
Code: |
Apple OS @ ramimg
iPodLinux @ (hd0,1)/linux.bin
Wikipodia @ (hd0,1)/linux.bin /mnt/ZeroSlackr/Packs/Wikipodia/Wikizilla
Disk Mode @ diskmode
Sleep @ standby |
The third line launches the Wikizilla that came with ZeroSlackr. However, all I could see was a modified version of Podzilla with no modules, and hence, no functionality. Actually, this is the same screen that would appear if I chose Wikipodia from the ZeroLauncher menu.
I realized the problem is not the method of launching Wikizilla, but the software that is being launched. Therefore, I decided to follow exactly the procedures described in the Wikipodia simple tutorial. Nevertheless, I was not able to download one of the files: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=9Y025HA5. Is there an alternative link? I'm not really willing to install the "Megaupload bar" on my browser...
Thanks |

How does ZeroSlackr install Linux without partitioning? A virtual ext3? Also, I once read why but I don't remember why can't Linux run on FAT32? |

No idea why it cant launch from FAT32, but it has an image of an ext3 (2?) partition it boots |

With ZeroSlackr the kernel mounts the FAT32 partition and finds an incomplete userland. Just enough to loopmount an ext3 image that contains a complete userland. The problem why you can't install a complete userland on FAT32 is that it doesn't support symlinks, file permissions, ... |
