Ok so I did that, and the first time it comes on I choose to boot to pz2. After I choose restart, when its loading i get
Code: |
Could not run '/etc/rc': Exec format error
No more tasks for init -- sleeping forever |
Also there was no modules for pz2, do I have to get these myself?
Thanks.. |
Wierd. I'm guessing that, because the iPod nano is flash-based, if
iPodLinux crashes too soon, all previous actions will not be fully
executed (this has happened to me a few times before and the same with
other people). I'm guessing that, after running the long start script,
Linux's memory is quite low, and thus trying to start something big like
PZ2 will crash it. Thus, Linux remembers that the rc file has been
replaced, but it doesn't have the file that replaced it (effectively
deleting it). Since memory's low, the PZ2 modules probably didn't
connect properly, and since the rc file's gone, iPodLinux won't boot.
Right now, the only thing you can do is reinstall iPodLinux as the rc
file is gone. When you install ZZ this time though, reboot iPodLinux as
the first action in BleuLlauncher. Then everything should be fine.
[The newer version should have a smaller-footprint in terms of the start
file, and the rc file will be symlinked - allowing easy access so a
deleted rc file error won't need to happen].
NoSeed - Don't double post, especially the same thing. If you don't know how to play iBoy, theres something called "search":

is called a WIKI, which means that anyone can improve the documentation

As for iDictionary - its just a set of (incompletely organized) text
files, so just opening em in any zilla will work. If I have time, I'll
try to organize something so some volunteers could help complete the
Project Gutenburg port. Its a free alternative to Merriam Webster's iPod
Dictionary (which has less and costs money but is reduced to fit on
your iPod).

Ok I redid the whole thing again, with arab's tut again. This time after
pasting and restarting to linux, it didnt go to the bleulauncher, it
instead went to the original podzilla, with inverted theme. From there I
restarted and held rewind, and I get the same exact rc error I got
before. |

Very odd indeed. The "going to inverted podzilla part" is probably
because you missed the countdown or something (its inverted cause that
was my default scheme), but somethings wierd with the missing rc file
each time. Are you sure you're using the link to the zip on the very
first page and not any previous version? (my very first release had a
few extra spaces in the rc file, thus causing a bit of chaos). Either
way, if you do try it again (with the zip on the first post), before you
exit BleuLlauncher, open up the rc file from file browser and see if
its properly formatted. |

ZZ Beta - theres been far to many updates and new stuff for this to be
even close to up-to-date. Either way, when it's released, you'll notice
that this and the beta version will be completely different and
non-compatible (I'm actually still going to need to check out the difs
in the new installer - it seems to use minix-sh, which I want to use,
but has quite a different rc file. |

OK
Rant of the day: PLEASE don't use minix-sh... I HATE it. I will not
include minix-sh in the iPod Application Manager under ANY circumstances
even if it's bundled with ZZ Beta. |

Hm, why not minix-sh? For the main reason, it allows
for Loader 2 Args, which allows for numerous work-around on
memory-lacking problems (mainly the iDoom vs MPD non-compatability). |
What are you talking about? Loader2Args is usable in the old sh. (Correct me if I'm wrong though)
Also, minix-sh doesn't work with most start files, like floydzilla. |
