No, I've tried before and found out that the shell
file used in the iPod Manager has problems reading normal shell
commands. I originally made a work about for this, but now theres the
new userland that supposedly enables start files, so then it should
work. If you want this to work as it is right now with the iPod Manager,
you'll have to duplicate the shell file in the zip and replace the
shell file in the manager with the one from the zip. |
It works normally for me... |

yes, thats what i did was made a copy of darkmatter scheme and renamed
it to default like you said on the first post. The first time i
rebooted, it came up with darmatter as the scheme, but when i rebooted,
the menus and scheme got all messed up again. it was like black and
white with the text from all the menus i went through merged together. i
found out that it deleted my default file after reboot. so why is it
deleting it is the question? on another note, when the menu/scheme is
messed up, if i go into schemes and change it, it goes back to normal.
But what im wondering is why the scheme that comes up is so messed up.
its definitely not the black and white theme. |

Alrighty, I obtained PZ2 source and looked through it. Apparently this is how scheme handling works.
Code: |
if (save) {
unlink (SCHEMESDIR "default.cs");
symlink (file, SCHEMESDIR "default.cs");
} |
In otherwords, the default.cs file is resymlinked each time. Hardcoding
the default.cs file is only a temporary measure. In the new PZ2
binaries, however, mono.cs is automatically chosen as default, so there
shouldn't be any problems for that. Just update the Podzilla2 binary. |

k i will do that. for some reason though, when i tried to extract the
latest nightlies, they wouldnt, so i kind of messed up the firmware,
being stupid and trying to update with an unextracted file. but i will
reinstall and update. can you just put the updated files in with the
install files? |

Hm, works for me. Download em to desktop first, then extract using the
WinRar shortcut ("Extract here" on right click). Winzip won't work here. |

im using winrar, but what i think is that it really isnt a compressed
file, because it has the same exact file size as the podzilla 2 file in
your installer. what i did was made it into an allfiles/file type:file.
im going to see if that works. |

did not work. just a bunch of text. but could you possibly upload the
latest nightly that is unzipped to rapidshare or something. i dont get
why it wont extract. im using winrar and other extracting programs, and
it always says no archives found. |

sorry for all the posts, but i am really trying to figure this out. do
you have the schemes working on yours perfectly, because i finally was
able to extract the download. im not sure why, but it was a different
file size this time when i downloaded. maybe im just retarted. but still
no luck with the default.cs problem |

Alrighty! Big 'nouncement for ZZ. I've created a userland with ZZ
components already added, so everything is installed turing iPodLinux
installation! The below link is a zip containing the networkless
Installer 2 with a modified packages.ipl that installs the ZZ system in
one go. This contains ZZ 1.3, which has all updated modules, schemes,
zillas and iBoy. Also, the userland is based on the newest version that
enables start files ; )
See three posts below for download link. v v v
I'm uploading the zip (23.1 mb) right now, so watch this space for a download link!

Actually, I think I accidentally included a new, unreleased Floyd2MPD
binary AriX compiled for me instead of the normal Floyd2illA (its still a
updated version though, but I didn't completely test it all). The
problem is, MPD doesn't seem to connect for me at startup, so that may
be a problem. It might be because I have no music on (ie, no
/iPod_Controls/Music folder), but I'll post if it works. Otherwise, the
Podzilla 2 probs are fixed.
Ps. MySourceDump is being a pain in the ass for uploading. I might end
up using a private uploader instead. Either way, tomorrow AriX may have a
mirror up for y'all ; ) |

Here it is. Its hosted on a private uploader, so don't mess around.
Download the Installer (first one) and possibly the iDoom Expansion Pack
as well. The Rockbox stuff is already included in the installer rar
(see the ReadMe). Enjoy!

Also updated first post.

Edit: Bugs
The rc file extras do not execute properly for reasons I'm trying to
find out. That means no MPD, no clock syn and no Loader 2 arguments for
now.
FOr the installer, a small warning popup warns of "Package format
version mismatch (need 3, got 2)" - that my editing mistake; just change
the line "version 2" in the packages.ipl file to "version 3". It
shouldn't affect installation though. |
