Ok, my last question:

For iboy in Floydzilla, where do i put my Gameboy roms? Also tell me which partion (sda2 or sda3)

You jokin? Floyd makes a folder called iBoy. Put them in there, though it should be sda2 because the FAT32 partition comes before the Linux one.

Hm, I've gotten an rc problem here (also slept forever for my nano). The main problem is how I edit the rc file. Notepad is completly useless and MSWord is only slightly helpful, but they both warp the formatting. A quick fix is to first open up the rc file in PodWrite the first time it boots properly and delete all the extra spaces in between. Make sure that you exit iPodLinux through an exit command though, cause a hard reboot will cause the previous few actions to not have happened (in the case where the start file wil run again, but there is no rc file, and thus the rc file is replaced with nothing, effectually deleting it). I'll try to post up a fixed rc file made directly in podzilla 2/Floydzilla.

If anyone knows a good alternative to notepad that works in terms of formatting (ie, proper line breaks), please tell me. PodWriting is a pain in the ass (this isn't the first time my rc file has failed due to an extra line break)

^Here's the fix. The main problem is that moving all the modules, appearance files, and fortunes take up a hell of a lot of memory, and thus, when the start file is done, there's not enough memory to run podzilla and the user is forced to hard reboot, which will be counter-useful. What I've done is first, fix up all the spaces in the rc file so it will work properly, and second, made a new start file using Stern's syslinks for the modules, appearances, and fortunes. I cannot test it out on my iPod yet as I don't have the iPodLinux installer with me right now (at school), but first see if things work by just replacing the rc file with the new one (it should), then try reinstalling except with the new start file. Report your results both times, thanks!
[size=7](I actually modified my rc file in my own custom version of it, but forgot to make the same modifications to the version I released)

It's actually "ipodmame". We decided that the lowercase 'i's were just stupid and stereotypical of apple products. Yay for being different.

^As I mentioned, the rc is bugged (ie, if you open it up in any good text editor or even through PodWrite, you'll notice there's extra spaces in between everything) and thus I directed you to download the patch. I'm testing out a modified version right now and I'll be able to upload a fuller version soon. Also remember that I already warned you that this is just experimental Alpha testing, so if it screws up, don't start getting angry at me ; P

If you get the sleeping forever problem, you'll either have to reinstall iPodLinux or open up your iPod through the real Linux. I booted up SLAX, went to the etc folder of the second partition, and copied in the fixed rc file into the etc folder, and everything was fine.

Alright, ZillaZero Alpha 0.2 - Fixed version.

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=KCXSOQ99

This version has the proper, working rc file, edited straight from PodWrite.

Fortune is installed (I forgot to add the commands in the actual start file)

iDoom and all the folders are added (makes the .zip bigger, but worth it)
Other Doom wads are not included (you have to download the .wads yourself), but I've already setted up all the folders with the base doom1.wad and such. Read the iDoom_README.txt (its complete!) in the "Instructions_n_READMEs" folder to know where to put the .wad files.

iDictionary added (also makes the .zip bigger, but worth checking out)

Added a load of useful shortcuts in the folder "_iPL_Shortcuts".
Documentary still the same (not done, so don't ask "howto" questions"

Added SYSLINKS! Syslinks for PZ2 Modules and Appearances. Also used for Fortune's fortune cookies. By syslinkin' em instead of copying them, there is no potential start file memory problem. Because of the nature of syslink, the syslink'd folders are "share" and "lib". They connect from /hp/share" and "/hp/lib" to "/usr/share" and "/usr/lib". Right now, all that goes into "lib" is PZ2 module folders (which is slightly updated). PZ2 appearance folders (fonts, schemes) go into "share" along with the fortune folder and the dict folder (already placed there). Not only is this convenient for adding things for PZ2, anything else that uses those two important folders can easily be placed into the /hp folders instead of needing "cp ..." start files ; ) Note that you CANNOT change the names of those two folders (not even to "Share") or PZ2 will not run.

And before you install it, make a copy of the start file and open it up in MSWord and give it a quick read to make sure you know everything thats going to happen! Just unzip everything into the root of your iPod and reboot!

Now, truely enjoy. Wink

~Keripo

Ps.
As for the naming of my folders, everything is done for convenience. "iBoy_nano" instead of "gameboy" for clarity, "Saved" instead of "Save" for grammer, "iMame" instead of "Mame_emulator" for a shorter name when typing the .sh files, "_iPL_Shortcuts" instead of "iPL_Shortcuts" so that the folder appears first in file browser, "_" instead of " " because of command reading problems (a " " can mean something in shell files), and "iSomething" instead of "RealName" so that all the game folders appear together in the file browser.

Again, every modification I have here is done for convenience, not because I feel like it.

Pss.
If this version works fine and installs completely, this will be the last update for ZillaZero Alpha. I will not release any more versions until the release of ZillaZero Beta, which I should be done by the end of this month. Any new updates or added stuff from between now and then (unless theres a bug and I happen to already know how to install the new thing) will be included in ZillaZero Beta. And also, when I post ZZBeta, I'll be using the forum account "Keripo" ; P

No, before you install, you will have to copy all gameboy games (*.gb) into the folder (in the primary sda2 partition) "/hp/iBoy_nano/" as thats where the configuration file points to. Either way, I have to personally say that a folder in your root named "gameboy" is a pretty lame folder name Rolling Eyes

Edit: Er, sorry, no "/ROMs", just in the folder "iBoy_nano", right in there with the Saved folder (so a Mario ROM would be "/hp/iBoy_nano/Mario2.gb")

100% Uploaded! Done! See first post!

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=KCXSOQ99

Just download the .zip and extract everything into the root of your iPod and reboot!

Edit: It works, just Harshboy's having some personal iPod problems. Installs fully and correctly on my iPod nano (upon reformatting and reinstalling [iPLoader 2.2]). Note that all base files with the exception of the rc file and all the config files are straight from the Triple Boot package.

Floydzilla's default folder for gb roms is "gameboy" Wink And either way. Once i get into the Floydzilla, and reboot to Apple, there will be a folder called "F:/iboy_nano/ROMS"....since hp points to sda2

EDIT: PZ2 no longer works!

Hm, testers anyone? I reformatted my iPod, reinstall iPL Loader 2, and use ZZ as my starting start and "podzilla" file - installed fully and correctly this time. Try it please and post your results.
