Will you create a wiki page as soon as there is enough testing?

^Here's the fix. The main problem is that moving all the modules, appearance files, and fortunes take up a hell of a lot of memory, and thus, when the start file is done, there's not enough memory to run podzilla and the user is forced to hard reboot, which will be counter-useful. What I've done is first, fix up all the spaces in the rc file so it will work properly, and second, made a new start file using Stern's syslinks for the modules, appearances, and fortunes. I cannot test it out on my iPod yet as I don't have the iPodLinux installer with me right now (at school), but first see if things work by just replacing the rc file with the new one (it should), then try reinstalling except with the new start file. Report your results both times, thanks!
(I actually modified my rc file in my own custom version of it, but forgot to make the same modifications to the version I released)

And also, do you have to have other programs already on your ipod?
Does this install ipl also, or just the podzillae, guis, etc., because i need to restore to fix a problem.

This version is much bigger as it also includes the Dictionary and the iDoom files. It is better though, with all bug fixes, and tested by myself and works. The only program you need on your iPod is iPodLinux, which you will have to install yourself. This is basically a replacement for only having podzilla.

And this time you should not get a sleeping forever error, unless you hard reseted the iPod. In that case, as I mentioned before, the start file will not have been properly removed and in the next reboot, the rc file will be replaced with nothing, thus causing the sleeping forever error. Just reinstall iPodLinux, use ZZ and wait about a minute after the first reboot before exiting through podzilla.

Edit:Ignore what I just wrote. I see you used the older version. That one will definitely NOT work because Notepad sucks and adds extra spaces in the rc file, thus making iPLinux unable to properly start. I shall edit all the links so they point to the newest, working version, which is the above link.

As for making a wiki page, I first have to find out how to upload a file to the wiki ; /

And yes, you will have to reinstall iPL as you are using a bad/non-working rc file (the rc file is "basically" the boot file)

this time, i got a "killing init" error.
This was after i over-installed the previous, which probably was not right.

So do I install ipl, install zz BEFORE exiting and rebooting into ipl, then wait a minute(what would this do)?

And would i have to restore (groan) again?

1. Reinstall iPodLinux (because you have a broken rc file) so that everything works normally as before. Just to check it works, only install podzilla (original) at first and make sure it works.
2. Download the new link on the first post on the front page.
3. Disk mode your iPod and extract everything into the root of your iPod. Disconnect and reboot and it will work.

Right now, you cannot try to "reinstall over it" because the start command will not run as it is run through the rc file, which is broken on your iPod right now. If the rc file doesn't run, the start file will never run.

Maybe. Try just reinstalling iPodLinux, but since you are using a nano, just reinstalling iPodLinux will create problems, so you'll need to reformat, restore, and reinstall (basically start from the very beginning and reinstall iPL).

It always sucks when there's a problem with the rc file. I blame Notepad.
