A lottery prize figure from Banpresto for TYPE-MOON’s 10th Anniversary event. Non-canon but still pretty beautiful-looking outfit design, but with some QC issues.
Elegant non-canon Saber figure wielding Caliburn
This is just the first of a long series of post-unboxing, backlogged TYPE-MOON figure reviews. After moving to my new place, I set up a nice corner of the room for figure photography and took a bunch of review-style photo sets of figures as I re-unboxed them. Most of these figures are second hand, B/B grade, so keep that in mind when going through the photos.

There’s actually quite a number of swappable/disassemble-able parts here
First, the white stockings and panties…
Notice the crappy paint job? :(
The connection between the big blue bow and the skirt isn’t too strong… mine’s already starting to crack
Skirt goes ontop the legs, not too stably though
Base with an ugly-looking support stand
At the bottom of the feet are holes that fit snuggly into the base’s pegs
Supposedly that weird-shaped support stand is sculpted to hold the bows… maybe my bow was a bit disfigured but it definitely didn’t feel like it fit at all. I just removed the stand since the figure has decent enough balance that a stand isn’t needed.
Torso #1, for single-handed sword wielding – looks really unnatural
Torso #2, for two-handed sword wielding – definitely looks more normal given the huge buster-sword-sized Excalibur Proto
Does give Saber some ridiculous cleavage though… isn’t Saber M-bust? >_>
Oh boy, Banpresto totally screwed up with the face… (or maybe I’m just used to GSC’s Saber faces). Either way, the face/hair/ponytail combo doesn’t match any of the existing Sabers (Blue/Zero, Lily, Red/Nero/Bride, Alter) so I guess Banpresto could have done whatever they wanted…
Head pops onto the torso, abeit very poorly and with a noticeable gap
A quick flash…
On to the weapons. Here’s Caliburn
Excalibur Proto in activation 1 form (Invisible Air removed). Note that Excalibur Proto is the weapon wielded by the original, male Saber in Fate/Prototypes (i.e. Nasu’s original Saber before Takeuchi said “Stfu Nasu, we are turning Fate into an eroge” and he genderswapped King Arthur)
Excalibur Proto in activation 2 form (Restraints of the Round Table lock removed). The Excalibur of Fate/stay night does not have this secondary seal.
Saber single-handed wielding Caliburn
Excalibur Proto requires the two-handed torso
Saber two-handed wielding Excalibur Proto in stage 1 (stage 2 looks boring)
With Aoko (B Prize), review of her next
Here’s some fanservice featuring Saber expertly handling the pole
