Audio software: VOCALOID2 with VY1's voice-bank, Audacity 1.2.6
Video software: Adobe Photoshop CS3, Adobe Premiere Pro 2.0, SUPER Video Converter
Modifications: correction of some pronunciations in sango312's VSQ file,
tweaking individual note pitch/dynamics/etc. to fit VY1's voice set.
Modified VY1 voice configurations:
Breathiness: 0 / Brightness: 50 / Clearness: 10 / Gender Factor: -22 / Opening: 127
This was a learning experience with some more advanced note editing as well as playing around with VY1 which, in my opinion, is significantly superior to the other voice banks in terms of audio quality and flexibility. Even the male counterpart (achieved by changing the overall pitch by a few semitones) seems to sound a lot better than Kaito/etc. straight out of the box.

Uninstall ~VY1 Mizki Cover~ by Keripo feat. Vocaloid2 VY1 「Mizki」
Edit: The weird random audio burps are due to the weird AAC encoding YouTube uses – just download and listen to the MP3 file linked below. I also mispelled VY1's codename as "Mizku" instead of "Mizki" – oops. I blame Miku and finishing things at 8 AM.

Vocaloid is a singing synthesizer application developed by the Yamaha Corporation that enables users to synthesize singing by typing in lyrics and melody. It utilizes Yamaha's Vocaloid synthesizing technology with specially recorded vocals of voice actors or singers. To create a song, the user must input the melody and lyrics. A piano roll type interface is used to input the melody and the lyrics can be entered on each note.

VY1 (codenamed "MIZKI" in reference to hanamizuki, a type of flower) is the first of the VY series being developed by Yamaha Corporation themselves. VY1 is intended for professional musicians and according to Yamaha intended to be a high quality voicebank. The concept behind the Vocaloid was that VY1 would be part of a series designed to set the standard by being a voicebank with no set gender, face or voice and would be a vocalist to complete any song. The voice itself is feminine and bares a slight accent that seperates the voicebank from other Vocaloids. This accent along with the high quality recording gives VY1 a smooth but sharp voice.
