This is Part 3: Azur Lane of my series of blog posts covering my 5-day experience at Anime Expo 2019. Make sure to also check out Part 1: General and Part 2: Fate Intro: It’s been a while since I’ve written an anime convention blog post (since AX2016, I’ve just been creating Flickr albums for every event I attend, writing a short Facebook blurb, and calling it good) but due to the higher-than-normal number of photos I took this year, I decided to go ahead and write one. Another reason for this was that this year’s AX experience was a …

Note: This is part 2 of my Anime Expo blog post. See here for part 1 Anime Expo (AX) is a four-day anime convention held annually in Los Angeles, California. It is the largest anime convention in North America, with AX2016 attracting over 100,000 attendees (more than four times the attendance we had at Sakura-con 2016). I hadn’t attended Anime Expo since AX2011 (Mikunopolis LA), but this time it was announced that there would be a huge concert called Anisong World Matsuri featuring many popular Japanese anime music artists performing (such as JAM Project, T.M. Revolution, etc.) as well …

Note: This is a blog post I was supposed to have written literally half a year ago. Due to numerous factors (mainly Black Desert Online, Revelation Online, Project Rem, and procrastination), I did not write this until today. But better late than never I guess, so here it is! Note: This is part 1/2 of my Anime Expo blog post. See here for part 2 Anime Expo (AX) is a four-day anime convention held annually in Los Angeles, California. Protecting the smile of best girl Rem… It’s been almost two and a half years since I entered the world of Dollfie Dream and started my first custom Dollfie project, Arcueid Brunestud. It would take me another 8 months before I finally completed her (during which I ended up adopting an official Volks Saber Lily), after which I decided that would be the end of it and I would live happily ever after. Or so I thought… While 2016 was a shitty year in various other areas, it was a decent one for anime. More Gundam, more One adaptations, some …

Last weekend (April 23rd), I attended the Hatsune Miku Expo 2016 Seattle concert at the WaMu Theater. This was the (third?) Hatsune Miku concert ever held in North America (with the Seattle stop being the first in the NA tour), the first being Anime Expo 2011‘s Mikunopolis LA. While I did attend AX2011 back then, I didn’t realize that I had to pre-order tickets ahead of time (concert newbie mistake!) and, of course, they all sold out by then. This time around, I did make sure to buy concert tickets ahead of time (or rather, a friend of mine did …

It’s that time of year again: Sakura-Con 2016! Sakura-Con is the largest anime convention in the north west, with over 20,000 attendees and held this year at the Washington State Convention Center (Seattle, Washington) between March 25-27th. This was my third year attending, having attended and blogged about both 2015 and 2014. This time around, I didn’t have any panel topics in mind so I just attended (once again) as volunteer staff this year for tournament gaming. The scheduling this year also wasn’t all that interesting so I spent most of my free time just wandering around looking for Fate …

See MyAnimeList for my list of watching/completed anime. Check out AnimeCalendar for a nifty tool to keep up-to-date with airing anime. It’s the second week into this airing anime season. All the episode ones have been watched and all first impressions made (see here for notes and thoughts on the last season). Time to jot down the notes so we can check back three months from now and see how ridiculously wrong (or accurate) our initial thoughts were. It’s a bit early, but I think I’m more looking forward to the summer 2014 season (Sword Art Online 2: Gun Gale …

So this weekend, the cherry blossoms (sakura trees) on University of Washington campus were in full bloom, so OhnoRaptors and I decided to go on a picnic + photography trip with a few friends. I thought it’d be a good opportunity to bring along a few figures for figure photography (was originally planning on bringing along Saber Lily but I realized it’d be a hassle to carry her around along with all the picnic food), so I went ahead and finally unboxed Good Smile Company‘s 1/7 Ryougi Shiki and Kotobukiya‘s 1/8 Ryougi Shiki. The place turned out to be far …
