Combined video footage of the boss clears in my group’s first clear of Mech Citadel Expert 3-star mode. In total, we spent about 12 hours in the dungeon (two 6-hour raid sessions over the course of two days). It was my and most of the group’s first time doing MC 3*, but we still managed to secure a top 5 spot (finished 4th on Darkfall I believe and probably 6th or 7th overall in NA).
I was originally meant to be melee DPS but ended up tanking some parts due to gear diff. For the first boss, I just DPSd with all other characters hidden so that it was easier to dodge attacks. For the second boss, I ended up being the mob lurer – I should probably have turned back on characters so that I could see the skulls but it turned out fine. For the third boss, I was main tank since the boss does a lot of magic damage and I stack mdef. For the last boss, I was again on mob luring duty and didn’t do much DPS either. All in all, was a pretty stressful but rewarding raid and my first time in MMO history doing something like this. Definitely looking forward to going for Top 5 clear for Alter of Swords, mainly for that snazzy looking back accessory :3
