This is Part 3: Azur Lane of my series of blog posts covering my 5-day experience at Anime Expo 2019. Make sure to also check out Part 1: General and Part 2: Fate Intro: It’s been a while since I’ve written an anime convention blog post (since AX2016, I’ve just been creating Flickr albums for every event I attend, writing a short Facebook blurb, and calling it good) but due to the higher-than-normal number of photos I took this year, I decided to go ahead and write one. Another reason for this was that this year’s AX experience was a …

Note: This is part 2 of my Anime Expo blog post. See here for part 1 Anime Expo (AX) is a four-day anime convention held annually in Los Angeles, California. It is the largest anime convention in North America, with AX2016 attracting over 100,000 attendees (more than four times the attendance we had at Sakura-con 2016). I hadn’t attended Anime Expo since AX2011 (Mikunopolis LA), but this time it was announced that there would be a huge concert called Anisong World Matsuri featuring many popular Japanese anime music artists performing (such as JAM Project, T.M. Revolution, etc.) as well …

Note: This is a blog post I was supposed to have written literally half a year ago. Due to numerous factors (mainly Black Desert Online, Revelation Online, Project Rem, and procrastination), I did not write this until today. But better late than never I guess, so here it is! Note: This is part 1/2 of my Anime Expo blog post. See here for part 2 Anime Expo (AX) is a four-day anime convention held annually in Los Angeles, California. Last weekend (April 23rd), I attended the Hatsune Miku Expo 2016 Seattle concert at the WaMu Theater. This was the (third?) Hatsune Miku concert ever held in North America (with the Seattle stop being the first in the NA tour), the first being Anime Expo 2011‘s Mikunopolis LA. While I did attend AX2011 back then, I didn’t realize that I had to pre-order tickets ahead of time (concert newbie mistake!) and, of course, they all sold out by then. This time around, I did make sure to buy concert tickets ahead of time (or rather, a friend of mine did …

It’s that time of year again: Sakura-Con 2016! Sakura-Con is the largest anime convention in the north west, with over 20,000 attendees and held this year at the Washington State Convention Center (Seattle, Washington) between March 25-27th. This was my third year attending, having attended and blogged about both 2015 and 2014. This time around, I didn’t have any panel topics in mind so I just attended (once again) as volunteer staff this year for tournament gaming. The scheduling this year also wasn’t all that interesting so I spent most of my free time just wandering around looking for Fate …

Last weekend (September 5th), I attended Volks USA’s official Doll Party in LA 2015 event. This was my first time attending a Dolpa event, as well as my first time meeting a large number of DD owners. I had previously attended the BJD-focused Uncanny Dreams 2013 and had a mini-meet at Sakura-con 2014, but that was it. And so, with high expectations and excitement to making new friends, I planned out hotel and scheduling with thebobness, packed up Lily and Arcueid, and hopped on the plane to Los Angeles. Dollfie Dream Team, assemble! Overall, the trip was quite fun and …

See this post for the introduction. See this post for background info on Comiket 86 After a relaxing day of cosplay photography came the main event of the trip: Comiket 86 Day 3: doujinshis, doujinshis, doujinshis! King of comic conventions, do you have enough doujinshis in stock? Unlike in day 1 and 2 where we only got a small glimpse of the fight, day 3 was going to be a battlefield. A true test of strategy and preparation. The real deal. Prior to the trip, we (well, mostly me) had spent countless hours at night drawing up the battle plan …

See this post for the introduction. See this post for background info on Comiket 86 After the exhausting first day of Comiket 86 came C86 Day 2: the day of cosplay photography. Hnnnnngggggggggggg! *dies from heart attack* It was also cloudier that morning, so the initial outside waiting for doors to open was much more tolerable than the previous day. Day 2 of Comiket consists mostly of female-oriented BL circles and Touhou circles, so we managed to finish our shopping really early and spend some time wandering around or photographing cosplayers (which was mainly what I ended up doing). Which …
