Castle siege by Gank Bus against The White Order for Marcala castle. I participated on my west alt, Pantyhose, along with numerous other members of the General Assembly alliance, while TWO’s side consisted of them and many borrowed members from Fairy Tale.
The title of this video, “The New Dawn”, is a reference to the forum thread “A red sun sets in the west” written by Sorcerer outlining the near impossibility of winning an attack siege due to current castle siege mechanics. And indeed, this was an extremely difficult siege due to the numerous siege mechanics in favour of the defenders (in addition to a clever but exploitative castle design layout) but a well planned strategy, a lot of siege tanks and explosive kegs, and solid PvP tactics won out. In total, 4 walls, 1 gatehouse, and 1 lodestone were destroyed via siege tanks, kegs and player damage (for the lodestone) with only 10 minutes left on the clock. This is also the first offensive siege since the Secret of Ayanad patch release, which raised the level cap to 55. There was a good mix of 51-55s on both sides, with me being one of the rare lowbie 50s.
Old-time YouTube subscribers might notice that I’m actually using the same soundtrack from one of my favourite old PWI territory war videos: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e1Al9WgeoLw. I found the lyrics for the two songs very fitting for this siege and decided to bring them up to light once again.
The song clip in the intro is “Bullet for Prisoner” by QVIC feat. Megurine Luka. Background music info is shown at the end of the video. Usage of copyright audio content is for non-commercial purposes and permissible under Fair Use.
