This is just the first of a long series of post-unboxing, backlogged TYPE-MOON figure reviews. After moving to my new place, I set up a nice corner of the room for figure photography and took a bunch of review-style photo sets of figures as I re-unboxed them. Most of these figures are second hand, B/B grade, so keep that in …

Yesterday, a friend of mine living in New York linked me to a new maid cafe (website here) opening in downtown Chinatown. While I've been to Japanese maid cafes in my previous travels, I've yet to visit a permanent one in the US. Which got me thinking, why? And yet, I also knew the answer; Japanese-style maid cafes cannot be …

Takeuchi Takashi (武内崇) is a Japanese artist best known as the illustrator and co-founder of TYPE-MOON. In otherwords, he's the artist behind all the characters from Tsukihime, Fate/stay night, and Kara no Kyoukai (yes, he drew your waifu). But before TYPE-MOON became a commercial company in 2004 with the release of Fate/stay night, TYPE-MOON was a doujin circle. And before …

After my first photoshoot with Saber Lily, I really wanted to take her out for an outdoor photoshoot. So, while the weather was still nice, I brought Lily to a local botanic garden for her very first doll meet, with OhnoRaptor’s Airy and jadepixel’s Mariko. Enjoy the photos! ^_^

For the full Saber Lily DD unboxing and review, see my previous post Saber Lily, the Princess of Knights In between unboxing and putting together Saber Lily (see link above), I took some time to take nice, clean pictures of her in her various outfit. For some of the pictures, I tried to copy various poses from the pamphlet or …

Photo warning: This is a VERY photo heavy review. If you just want to see Saber Lily in her completed outfits, see the photoshoot post While I'm not all that much of a Saber fan (as opposed to most TYPE-MOON collectors), there is one version of Saber that I do really like (purely due to her character design). and that …

Per request of kilani, I went around the house, gathered my various plushies/pillows/cloth-stuff/etc, and took some pics. So here they are, enjoy! Combined pics of my plushies, since kilani said “put them all in one photo” Office at work: – Madoka’s Kyuubey – ThinkGeek’s Sushi plush (sold out) – FLCL’s Haruko – Chobit’s Chii – Bakemonogatari’s Shinobu – Gunslinger Girl’s …

So I was updating my MFC collections lists today (since the Spring Tsukihime Bottle Caps just arrived in mail, bought from Yahoo Auctions Japan) and I realized that my TYPE-MOON Collection list had hit 300 items (with MFC entries, and almost 500 if you include those without)! It's been less than two years since I got my first TYPE-MOON figure …

This is an essay I wrote while in university, titled "The World of Hatsune Miku – A brief overview of the VOCALOID phenomena". The complete PDF version of this can be found here. Published under CC BY-NC-SA. Just under 6 years ago, while wandering around the somewhat unknown video-sharing website called YouTube, I came across an interesting 3D animated music …
