The Japanese otaku community is always coming with new cute/sexy outfit fetishes. In 2014, it was the keyhole turtleneck sweater, which I admittedly got for Arc to replace her normal turtleneck sweater. In 2015, it was the front zipper swimsuit though since I’m personally not a fan of one-piece swimsuits, I didn’t really take much interest. That was followed by the cat keyhole lingerie in 2016, which I would have immediately gotten Arc if the Volks DD body didn’t look so bleh in lingerie. The year 2017 has just started, but we’ve already gotten a new fetish outfit: the virgin-killing …

Note: This is part 2 of my Anime Expo blog post. See here for part 1 Anime Expo (AX) is a four-day anime convention held annually in Los Angeles, California. It is the largest anime convention in North America, with AX2016 attracting over 100,000 attendees (more than four times the attendance we had at Sakura-con 2016). I hadn’t attended Anime Expo since AX2011 (Mikunopolis LA), but this time it was announced that there would be a huge concert called Anisong World Matsuri featuring many popular Japanese anime music artists performing (such as JAM Project, T.M. Revolution, etc.) as well …

Protecting the smile of best girl Rem… It’s been almost two and a half years since I entered the world of Dollfie Dream and started my first custom Dollfie project, Arcueid Brunestud. It would take me another 8 months before I finally completed her (during which I ended up adopting an official Volks Saber Lily), after which I decided that would be the end of it and I would live happily ever after. Or so I thought… While 2016 was a shitty year in various other areas, it was a decent one for anime. More Gundam, more One adaptations, some …

Here’s a quick guide to getting started with buying stuff for your first (custom) Dollfie Dream. Wrote this up for a friend, might polish it up later if there’s interest. Arcueid obviously did some shopping last Christmas… Head mold This is arguably the most important part since it defines the shape of your character’s face. For pricing, you are best off going with standard head models. For anime style characters, the DDH07 or DDH09 heads are my recommendation. Note that they come unpainted. Buy from Volks store or second hand store or YAJ. Usually your second biggest cost next to …

December 25th is known around the world as Christmas, a (once religious but now mainly commercial) holiday of joy and happiness. But you know what else gets celebrated on this day? Arcueid Brunestud’s (self-proclaimed) birthday! So why not celebrate both with a new photoshoot of Arcueid in a seductive Xmas outfit from Ageha Design? :3 Flickr: https://www.flickr.com/photos/keripo/albums/72157660446872654 Figure.fm: http://www.figure.fm/en/post/56447/Merry+Xmas+and+Happy+Birthday+Arcueid.html DollfieDreams: http://www.dollfiedreams.com/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=13653 ~Keripo

Last weekend (September 5th), I attended Volks USA’s official Doll Party in LA 2015 event. This was my first time attending a Dolpa event, as well as my first time meeting a large number of DD owners. I had previously attended the BJD-focused Uncanny Dreams 2013 and had a mini-meet at Sakura-con 2014, but that was it. And so, with high expectations and excitement to making new friends, I planned out hotel and scheduling with thebobness, packed up Lily and Arcueid, and hopped on the plane to Los Angeles. Dollfie Dream Team, assemble! Overall, the trip was quite fun and …

It’s been a while since I’ve posted anything here (I blame ArcheAge), but last, last week was Sakura-Con 2015. Sakura-con is the largest anime convention in the north west, with over 20,000 attendees and held at the Washington State Convention Center (Seattle, Washington) between April 3-5th. I went last yearand took tons of cosplay photos as an attendee, but this year, I decided to attend not only as volunteer staff, but also as a panelist! Since I spent most of my time helping out in the console gaming room (I was part of tournament gaming staff), I was only able …

See this post for the introduction. Continuing on from the Fushimi Inari Shrine visit, I went to meet up with sorrowmoon for a visit to Volk’s Tenshi no Sato. Tenshi no Sato was a dedicated Super Dollfie museum and “den” for Dollfie owners, complete with a Japanese-style garden in back and had always been a must-see for doll owners (reservation required, passport needed for foreigners). I had previously visited the location before and took some of my first Dollfie photography there, but that was before I had completed Arcueid, so this would be Arc’s first photoshoot there. Arcueid posing outside …

See this post for the introduction. This was the first actual do-stuff day of this Japan trip, and the plan for me was yet another visit to Tenshi no Sato, but this time with my completed Arcueid Dollfie. sorrowmoon had scheduled our visit for the afternoon, so I decided to spent part of the morning with the rest of the group visiting the Fushimi Inari shrine yet again. Arcueid chilling at the Fushimi Inari shrine Japanese breakfast at the ryokan/hotel! Consisting of tofu, fruit bits, cheese balls with some sauce, preserved radish, bowl of tea, some spinnach?, piece of fish, …

Care for some more sake, Master? A few months ago I attended Sakura-Con 2014, where I attended a mini doll-meet with OhnoRaptor, jadepixel, thebobness, and perfect34. thebobness had brought his Melty in a nice kimono, which made me think that I should get my Arc one as well. I searched around online afterwards and came across Haku1923’s beautiful Kimono Sora, whose kimono I immediately fell in love with. After doing some searching around, I eventually found out about the many kimono shops on Taobao, including the one Haku1923’s Sora had. Turned out it was an older set, 花絳Ⅱ, by Infinite …
