Last weekend was Sakura-Con 2014, the biggest anime convention in the north-west. The convention is pretty big with over 25,000 attendees this year and was the biggest I’ve ever been to since Anime Expo 2011. It was also the first time I was attending an anime con with friends also interested in anime (including OhnoRaptors and Tsukikira), which made it a lot more fun since I wasn’t always the only person excited to see stuff. Could this be the True Ending? Intro A while back, following my second Japan trip, I ventured into the world of Dollfie Dreams and created my very first custom DD, Arcueid V0. It was “V0” because at that time, she was created using only standard/unremarkable parts that you can easily pick up online through web stores or hunt down through eBay/Yahoo Auctions Japan. So a while back, after adopting the elegant Saber Lily, I went and ordered a Volks SD Carrying Case (Black Diamond) and a Saddle Stand Type C (Metal). The carrying case was so I could carry both my Dollfies in (an upgrade from the thinner CoolCat bag), and the stand was so I could properly pose Saber Lily in the Distant Avalon pose (the plastic DD stand I had worked but was unstable and Saber Lily would easily fall over) Overall, the bag was very nice and spatious and I was able to snuggly fit both my Dollfies in (Saber …

A while back when I was photographing V0 of my custom Arcueid Brunestud Dollfie Dream, I quickly noted something bothering me when I was reviewing the photos. Something that stood out. Literally. I started off with a standard L bust from DDIII Aoi Ver. 2 but after looking at some photos and chatting with jadepixel, I decided to go ahead and order an L shapely bust. The result was quite nice. Just came back from Uncanny Dreams in Seattle, my very first doll convention since I became a Dollfie Dream owner. Was a bit smaller than I expected (having only attended anime cons before), but was still pretty interesting. There were only three Dollfie Dream owners there, and I’m pretty sure I was the only guy doll owner there too… orz

So right after my Japan trip I actually had to start packing to move to a new place. The bad news was that I had some heavy Detolfs and a few hundred figures to box up and move. So a while back before I left for my Japan trip, I decided on whim to try to create a custom Dollfie Dream. Intro: Before, I really didn’t have much interest in DDs. To me, they were just really big and expensive dolls, kinda like large figmas but with clothing.
